Oct 30th Ray Johnson, Sergio Calvet, Mike Murphy and Celina Hernandez will be a part of Women of Wonder Day which will be held in New Jersey, Texas and Portland, Oregon.

The People Behind CHIBI COMICS

Ray Johnson:
Ray is a freelance illustrator and comic artist based in Oakland, California soon to be relocating to Portland, Oregon. He has two titles in development with Chibi Comics- Meanwhile (set for release spring 2011) and Ink (set for release summer 2011). He’s also contributing to Ashcan, Chibi Comics’ upcoming anthology title launching on Free Comic Book Day 2011.

Sergio Calvet:
Sergio is a freelance illustrator and comic artist based in Barcelona, Spain. He’s been working for years within the indie scene, contributing work to Halloween Man, It’s The Beer Talking, and his own series, Skyjack. He’s a vital part to Chibi Comics, with the titles Samurai and Dinosaurs and Nothing Ever Lasts to his credit. He’s also contributing to Ashcan, Chibi Comics’ upcoming anthology title launching on Free Comic Book Day 2011.

Celina Hernandez:
Celina is a freelance illustrator and comic artist based in Portland, Oregon. Her output over the years has been wide and varied, and currently is working with Brian Anderson of CBG Comics on both So Super Duper and Reignbow and Dee-va. She was several titles in development at Chibi Comics, including the ogn Red Town (set for release 2012), and is often the letterer and colorist for most of their titles. She’s also contributing to Ashcan, Chibi Comics’ upcoming anthology title launching on Free Comic Book Day 2011.

Mike Murphy:
Mike is a freelance writer/artist based in Portland, Oregon. The main writer for Chibi Comics, his name is associated with most of their titles. Currently, he’s putting the finishing touches on a long-overdue ogn titled Abby (set for release spring 2011), as well as prepping his next project, Scumbag (set for release fall 2011). He’s also contributing to Ashcan, Chibi Comics’ upcoming anthology title launching on Free Comic Book Day 2011.
